The Dangers of Leaving your Pet in the Garden
The Dangers of Leaving your Pet in the Garden
August, 2020
Dog thefts are high in the area at the moment. The thieves seem to be targeting pedigree and working dogs. Be aware of white chalk markings outside your home - they use these markings to indicate which homes have dogs worth stealing. They also seem to open your gate, hide and wait for your dog to wander out alone. Make sure to safe guard your dog in the garden with extra security or locks on gates that cannot be opened from the outside. Be aware they also cut fencing.
Getting Back To Normality After Lockdown!
Getting Back To Normality After Lockdown!
July, 2020
Your pet has enjoyed weeks of human company! YAY! But now they have to struggle back to normality which may cause them some anxiety now that they have become used to you being home 24/7. Ease them gradually by leaving them in a room while you are in another room or the garden. Once back at work try to have a family member or pet sitter check on them to ease them back slowly into a routine rather than leaving them all day alone. Leave them with something that smells of you. Check for signs of anxiety such as scratching, chewing, toileting issues, not eating or complaints from neighbours of your dog barking or crying. Seek veterinary advice if you think your pet is struggling with separation anxiety.
Everybody Is Walking The Dog!
Everybody Is Walking The Dog!
May, 2020
It's May..... the weather is great.....and we are in lockdown!!! With limited daily exercise we are all trying to find an excuse to get out of the house...… the dog is loving it!! But be aware to try to keep to normal walking routine for your dog so that they can settle back into normal routine once you go back to work. Be careful not to over exercise your dog also and especially be careful in the heat. Check the pavements are cool enough to walk on with your hand before talking your dog out.
